5 years ago, a friend suggested that I should stop wasting money on Valentine's Day & invest the same in the stocks of Archies.
For those who don’t know, Archies was like the Starbucks of gifting & cards & was a paradise for teens looking to woo their crushes/partners.
I listened to my friend & invested my Valentine Day's monetary budget in the stock of Archies.
Result -
a) Archies stocks are ~50% down from the time of my investment
b) The girlfriend is now an ex-girlfriend
As Radhika Gupta rightly said, Money exists to fulfill goals, not to win a race of return.
Life is a balance of saving/investing & spending.
Just get your partner a nice gift for Valentine's Day!

One of the most underrated advantages of any B-school/good organization is having a strong and active alumni network.
Came across this screenshot on Instagram of the Faculty of Management Studies - University of Delhi Alumni group which establishes the power of a great alumni base. When an alumnus (most likely of a recent batch) inquired if someone is working with L'Oréal, a fellow alumnus, Amit Jain, the chairman of L'Oreal himself (from the 1987 batch) replied that he was working with L'Oreal!
Take this as a reminder/learning to establish strong connections with your alumni base because you never know, someone might just turn out to be a Phunsuk Wangdu or Chatur for that matter of fact! Let's face it, having a connection with either of them can come in handy!
