I’m sharing my Financial Modeling & Valuation (FMV) Report Template of Mercedes-Benz AG that I built while working on my own end-to-end valuation project.
It’s a structured, analyst-style framework designed to replicate how financial modeling and valuation is done in real-world equity research and investment analysis.
What this template includes:
📌 One-page company profile
📌 Historical financial statement analysis
📌 Ratio & common-size analysis
📌 Forecasting framework (assumption-driven)
📌 WACC & intrinsic growth calculation
📌 DCF valuation and Value at Risk model
📌 Comparable company valuation
📌 DuPont analysis & Altman Z-Score
The entire framework is built to ensure:
✔️ Logical flow from qualitative analysis to valuation
✔️ Fully linked financial statements
✔️ Clean structure suitable for students, analysts, and finance enthusiasts
✔️ Strong foundation for equity research and valuation practice
If you’re a student, aspiring equity analyst, investor, or someone learning valuation, this template can serve as a practical starting point to structure your own reports professionally.

Through this report, I worked on analysing a global luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz AG, focusing on both qualitative and quantitative aspects of the business. From understanding the business model and industry positioning to analysing historical financials, risk metrics, and valuation frameworks, this project gave me hands-on exposure to how companies are evaluated in practice.
Analysing a global luxury automotive company was a completely new experience for me, and I learned a lot about how large, capital-intensive businesses create value over the long term.
This report has been prepared strictly for academic and learning purposes.
I’d appreciate feedback or perspectives from those experienced in finance.

I'm 16.
I've built a full financial model and valuation report for Mercedes-Benz AG.
Not a school project.
Not a downloaded template.
A real DCF, built from scratch.
Revenue build. WACC. Terminal value. Sensitivity analysis. EPS forecasting. The works.
Here's what that one project taught me that 2 years of commerce never did:
▪️ Revenue assumptions are where models live or die. Getting the growth rate wrong by 1% changes your entire valuation.
▪️WACC isn't a formula. It's a judgment call. Two analysts, same inputs, different answers, and both can be right.
▪️ Terminal value is where most students stop reading. It's also where 70-80% of the valuation sits. Pay attention here.
▪️ A sensitivity table shows you how wrong you can afford to be. That's not a flaw in the model. That's the model working.
▪️ The output matters less than the thinking. The number isn't the point. The process of getting there is.
I'm in Class 12. I co-founded EquityXperts, a student-led finance education platform.
The gap between knowing finance and doing finance is enormous.
Most students are stuck on the knowing side.
I chose to cross over.
I'm just getting started. Every model I build from here, every mistake I make, every thing this journey teaches me, I'm putting it all here. If you want to learn finance the real way, not just study it, follow along. Let's figure it out together.
What's one concept you've studied but never actually applied?
Drop it below.
