Engagement Over Time

As a talent acquisition professional, I often get asked what's the difference between an HR and a recruiter. Well, let me try to explain it to you with a funny analogy.
A recruiter is like your family matchmaker, who will find you the perfect partner for your dream job. They will woo you with attractive offers, guide you through the interview process, and celebrate with you when you get hired. They will be the most important person in your life until you're not matched and married to your dream company.
An HR, on the other hand, is like a mother-in-law, who will play small yet significant roles throughout your journey. They will welcome you to the family, help you with the paperwork, and support you with any issues or requests you have. They will also keep an eye on you and make sure you follow the rules and expectations of the company.
So, there you have it. I hope this made you smile and gave you some insight into the world of talent acquisition.
I'm always happy to be a matchmaker for the right candidate. 😉
I've realised that recruitment is challenging. To fill one position, I might have to contact 50 candidates, out of which only 40 show interest, 30 take the technical test, and 15 pass it. Then,12 candidates turned up for the interviews, and hiring managers selected 2 of them. And in the end, only 1 of them joins the company.
This is not a drawback or an advantage. It is simply the reality of recruitment, which involves dealing with human beings, whether they are hiring managers or candidates. And human beings are not easy to predict. Even if we achieve some quick wins, we cannot rely on the same strategy to work every time.
Recruitment is not an easy path, but I appreciate the challenge and the opportunity of recruitment. I enjoy connecting with people and finding the best fit for the company. I know that every candidate has something unique to offer, and I always try to learn from them.
I have some great news to share! I've taken a new position with Allegis Global Solutions as Recruitment Relationship Manager, Level 2 for their RPO client PepsiCo
And I'd like to express my gratitude to Akassh Jain (he/him/his) & Sai Lavanya for providing me with this chance.
Also, a big thanks to Garima Singh Smita Gujar Nisan Daniel Riddhi Cheta for the seamless recruitment & onboarding experience!!
