💥 After 18 failed attempts… Amazon finally said yes. One of my friends recently cracked the Amazon SDE interview, and his story is something I had to share — especially if you're someone who’s faced rejection and still kept going. Since college, he had applied to Amazon 18+ times — through their portal, referrals, cold DMs… basically every route possible. For a long time, nothing worked. Until it did. 🧠 Here’s how his interview process looked: 🔹 Online Assessment (OA): It had 3 parts — • 2 DSA problems (LeetCode-level, solved in ~25 mins) • Workplace simulation • Behavioral scenario questions The OA was more than just code. He gave his full attention to the non-DSA parts — and that may have made all the difference. 🔹 First Technical Interview: Two DSA questions + leadership principles. Yes, the coding part was important, but he felt like the Amazon Leadership Principles questions played a huge role. Tip: Practice telling real, structured stories using STAR format. 🔹 Second Technical Round: Topics: binary search, trees, DP, graphs, and linked lists. They didn’t go too deep into one area, but breadth mattered. 🔹 Final Round – Bar Raiser: This round was taken by an engineering manager. Same pattern — one/two DSA problems and deep behavioral questions. It came after a 3-week silence, so don’t lose hope if you’re waiting! 📞 The Offer Call: A week later, he got the call. Offer received 🎉 💡 What can we learn from this? ✔️ Don't underestimate the non-coding parts of the process ✔️ Structure your past experiences well — communication matters ✔️ Rejections are redirections.
