Almost 10 months into articleship, and here’s the truth I’ve learned the hard way: Nobody’s going to sit and spoon-feed you. Not the Excel formulas. Not that one audit clause. Not even the legal sections that seem to be so tough. You’ll be thrown into real situations. With real clients. And real pressure! You either step up and learn it yourself or you keep waiting for someone to walk you through it which is rarely gonna happen. When I look back at the version of me 10 months ago nervous, unsure, overthinking everything. I just smile. Because today, I’m calmer. More composed. I thought moving from Articleship to Industrial Training would feel the same…. life said.. LOL, wait. 1️⃣ Emails now have long CC lists and every name feels important. 2️⃣ “Client” became “team,” but ownership became even more real. 3️⃣ Excel sheets got bigger… and so did the responsibility. 4️⃣ Calls sound more structured, but the learning curve stays the same. 5️⃣ Lunch breaks exist unless there’s a “quick sync.” 6️⃣ “Let’s discuss” usually means new work is coming your way. 7️⃣ Weekends feel longer, and coffee feels essential. 8️⃣ “Let me check” replaces “I don’t know” and it builds confidence. 9️⃣ You miss your articleship circle, but you appreciate your growth. 🔟 And every single day still teaches you something new. it’s a shift in how you think, work, and show up. From “What do I do now?” → to “I can handle this.”
