#Startuplessons - To be or Not to be a Sales Person The Salesperson’s Dilemma is quite natural Between a Demanding Boss & Insurmountable Targets As depicted in the video 👇 Overwhelming is just not enough to describe the pain Navigating the world of sales isn’t just about numbers It’s about survival, strategy & building trust where it matters most When I started my career as a sales executive I never imagined how quickly things would evolve Within 2 years, I was promoted to Assistant Sales Manager Sounds glamorous? Not quite I’ve been grinding myself for18 months I was managing the most remote territory Far from the action & even farther from support In addition the biggest setback being the sole male in women dominated space Competing on price didn’t help There were too many options for decision-makers That’s when I realized I needed to stop selling products & start building relationships Slowly but surely, trust began to take root Clients didn’t just want to give business to my company They wanted to give business to me My organization became incidental That’s the real magic of sales I still remember when a senior executive from a leading FMCG Visiting from the Middle East Offered me a role in his global team I was flattered, but I had other plans Eventually, I exited my organization on a high Closing a deal for office space Collecting a cheque for 36 lakhs (35+ years ago, that was massive!)
