𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀? Scientists have developed a promising technique using gold nanoparticles to repair brain damage in Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s is caused by toxic alpha-synuclein protein clumps that damage dopamine-producing neurons. The new approach uses nanoparticles coated with antibodies and peptides to target and dissolve these clumps. Once in the brain, the nanoparticles attach to affected neurons. A near-infrared light beam activates them, generating mild heat that triggers cell repair and releases therapeutic peptides to clear harmful proteins. This restores dopamine production naturally. Unlike traditional drugs with side effects, this method addresses the root cause. Tested successfully in mice, it showed significant recovery without side effects. Though human trials are still ahead, this breakthrough offers hope for a non-invasive, long-term Parkinson’s treatment. #Discovery #Scientist #Work #Element #Newage

𝗢𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱? A 28-year-old female PhD student Pragati Kharya pursuing PhD in Earth Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India committed suicide in her hostel room. She had started her PhD in 2021, and while the reason for her suicide is still unknown, it is not difficult to imagine the immense pressure she must have faced. This marks the fourth suicide at IIT Kanpur in just one year, raising urgent concerns about the mental well-being of students, particularly those pursuing demanding programs like PhDs. It’s important to remember that PhD students often work under intense pressure, juggling research expectations, deadlines, and personal struggles. Many times, the relationship between a PhD student and their guide becomes strained, with students feeling unsupported or overwhelmed by high expectations. Guides should not just be strict supervisors but partners in the research journey, offering support and understanding, especially when mental health is at stake. It’s high time we talk about the mental toll of academia and how we can create healthier, more supportive environments for students. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. #IITKanpur #Loss #Work #Students #PhD #MentalPressure #Statement #LinkedIn

In contrast, freshers’ salaries have barely seen a 33.33% increase. This disparity highlights how underpaid freshers are, despite the significant growth in the industry. Fresh graduates in these sectors in other countries receive much higher packages, underscoring the need for better compensation and recognition for young talent in India.
