Finally I landed My Dream Job 🥳🥳
So you're neck-deep in career advice.
"Network like crazy!" they yell.
"Optimize your LinkedIn!" they scream. "Tailor your resume until it bleeds!" they shriek.
Guess what?
I landed my dream job by doing the exact opposite.
And chances are, you can too.
Here's the harsh truth: most career advice is like a broken compass in a blizzard.
It might point you in a general direction, but it won't get you to the mountaintop.
In fact, it might just lead you in circles, lost and frustrated.
I was lost in that blizzard for years.
Every interview felt like an avalanche, every rejection a blizzard blast.
I followed all the "rules," crafted the perfect pitch, and interviewed like a robot.
But my soul?
It was buried under a mountain of "shoulds" and "supposed-tos."
Then, something snapped.
I realized: I was so focused on following the map, I forgot to look at the damn stars.
So I tossed the map.
I ignored the noise.
And I honed in on my own internal compass.
Here's what I did instead:
1. I Ignored the Hype: Forget "hustle culture" and "10 steps to a six-figure job."
Focus on what "You" find fulfilling, not what society shoves down your throat.
My dream job wasn't about the money or the title, it was about using my creativity to make a real impact.
2. I Embraced My Quirks: Forget fitting into cookie-cutter molds.
Let your weirdness shine!
My love for obscure 80s music and passion for astrophysics landed me in a conversation with my now-boss about the hidden physics of David Bowie's music videos.
Turns out, we were both closet Bowie nerds.
3. I Said No to "Good" Opportunities: Just because a job has a fancy title or a fat paycheck doesn't mean it's right for you.
I turned down countless "prestigious" offers that didn't spark my soul.
It wasn't easy, but staying true to myself paid off.
4. I Followed My Curiosity: Forget career ladders and five-year plans.
Chase the rabbit holes that ignite your spark.
My curiosity led me down a wild internet wormhole, which somehow landed me in a conversation with a recruiter for my dream company.
Who knew astrophysics and Bowie could open doors?
5. I Built Bridges, Not Resumes: Forget the LinkedIn grind and endless networking events.
Focus on genuine connections, not collecting business cards.
Building relationships with people I genuinely enjoyed, not just those who could "help" me, led me to unexpected opportunities.
The result?
I landed my dream job at a company that values my quirks, fuels my curiosity, and lets me use my astrophysics knowledge to explain the awesomeness of David Bowie.
No resume magic,
No LinkedIn wizardry,
Just me being me.

99% of Employees Are Underpaid.
Here's How to Negotiate a Higher Salary
Way too many people are letting others get ahead by obsessing over authenticity.
But that doesn't mean you can't stand out.
Authenticity doesn't mean you need to reinvent the wheel.
It means that you add to it.
- Show your personality
- Share your interests
- Form connections
- Be vulnerable- Show depth
Way too many employees are letting their employers get ahead by obsessing over being underpaid.
But that doesn't mean you can't negotiate a higher salary.
Being underpaid doesn't mean you need to reinvent yourself.
It means that you add to your value.
- Show your worth
- Share your accomplishments
- Build relationships
- Be confident
- Show your potential
If you're struggling to negotiate a higher salary, try this instead:
- Analyze what other employees in your industry are earning
- Define your goal (a specific salary increase)
- Pick a time to negotiate (when you're prepared and have leverage)
- Practice your pitch (what you're going to say)
- Be prepared to walk away (if you're not offered what you want)
Then, find ways to communicate your value to your employer.
- Highlight your skills and experience
- Quantify your accomplishments
- Explain your contributions to the company
- Show how you can help the company grow
- Be clear about your expectations
You'll quickly learn what works and what doesn't for you.
10x on what works, ditch the rest.
Use your employer's needs to your advantage (and only if you're willing to meet those needs).
You don't get extra points for not negotiating.
What's the point of being underpaid if no one is going to fix it for you?

Employees are not getting the promotions they deserve - here's why
I've seen it too many times.
Hardworking employees who go above and beyond, but still don't get the promotions they deserve.
It's frustrating.
But it's often not their fault.
There are a few common reasons why employees don't get the promotions they deserve:
- They're not visible to the right people.
- They're not advocating for themselves.
- They're not developing the right skills.
So, what can employees do to increase their chances of getting promoted?
Here are 7 "power strategies" anyone can try:
1) Get involved in high-profile projects.
↳ Volunteer for projects that will give you exposure to senior leaders.
↳ Bonus: You'll gain valuable experience and skills at the same time.
2) Network with senior leaders.
↳ Attend company events and introduce yourself to senior leaders.
↳ Bonus: Learn about their career paths and ask for advice.
3) Talk to your manager about your career goals.
↳ Be upfront about your desire for a promotion and discuss what you need to do to achieve it.
↳ Bonus: Your manager can help you develop a plan and provide you with opportunities.
4) Get feedback from your peers.
↳ Ask your peers for feedback on your performance and areas where you can improve.
↳ Bonus: You'll get valuable insights from people who know you well.
5) Develop new skills.
↳ Take online courses, attend workshops, or read books to learn new skills that are relevant to your desired promotion.
↳ Bonus: You'll make yourself more marketable and valuable to your employer.
6) Don't be afraid to self-promote.
↳ Talk about your accomplishments in your performance reviews and one-on-one meetings with your manager.
↳ Bonus: It's important to let your manager know what you've achieved and how you've contributed to the team.
7) Be patient and persistent.
↳ Getting promoted takes time and effort. Don't get discouraged if you don't get promoted right away.
↳ Bonus: Keep working hard, developing your skills, and advocating for yourself.
Remember: you deserve to be promoted.
