Day 112 of 365 Days!
Read it again.
Read it loudly again.
I heard this line plenty of times, and I am grateful to my senses that I understood the importance of taking decisions for self at a very young age. Be it academics, business, travel, relationship, financial, etc -
'๐ฟ๐๐ง ๐ก๐๐๐๐, ๐ก๐๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐ข๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐จ๐๐ ๐ ๐ก๐๐ฎ๐...'
In societies where patriarchy and regressive mindsets still shape norms, decision-making - especially for young girls, women and marginalized communities - is not just a personal act. It's a quiet revolution.
With deep ingrained backward notions and conditioning, people consider taking decisions as a taboo. Its like bestowing the strings of your life in someone's hands.
As a result, we ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ป๐ผ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ from others; because somewhere deep within we have lost that confidence of taking decision and standing firm on it.
For example:
- Should I wear this dress or not?
- Hope I am not looking fat!
- Yaar achi toh lag rahi hun na?
- I have to ask my husband for this!
- Arey Papa ko aane do pehle unse puchenge ki chalenge ki nahi!
I completely understand, that when we are children, it is our parents who know what is best for us. They take decisions for us.
But as a new age parent and someone who has broken glass ceilings in my personal life, I believe, we should ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ at home for our children.
Let them do mistakes.
Let them take some decisions.
Guide them, but let them learn.
Let them be....
Similarly, we as grown ups should also learn to take decisions rather than letting anyone else take it for you.
Do leave your thoughts or experiences below.

Day 110 of 365 Days!
Kal sabhi ne Mothers Day manaya, bas inhone nahi manaya....
Kaise manayenge?
How come this day be happy for her?
What about these mothers who lost their sons while they were right there serving the nation, protecting us from all the evils.
While their sons were fighting on the war field, we were sleeping and living our life peacefully.
To be honest, we can never ever repay or give back to the sacrifices made by these mother.
Being a mother myself, it breaks me from within when I see what these mothers have lost.
When a child dies, a mother looses everything within her.
I know these mothers have immense strength which no one has. They are proud of their child's sacrifice.
Par fir bhi woh 'Maa' haina....
Ab mujhe Maa kaun bolega?
Kaun chutti main ghar aayega aur bolega Maa tu kahan hai?
Kaun ab bolega aaja Maa chal thodi Der Tham jate hai?
Kaun kahega Maa mera sir sehla de?
Ab Kaun bolega Maaaa.....
Too tough and heart wrenching ๐
To all the brave mothers out there!
Salute.
Jai Hind Jai Bharat
ps: this post is a dedication to every Mother who has lost her child. To mothers who have lost their son in Pahalgam attack. To mothers whose sons are martyred in the wars.
