Aditya Kashyap, depressed and suicidal, boards a random train and meets Geet Dhillon. Geet tries to cheer Aditya up and they both end up missing the train. Geet insists Aditya accompany her to her home in Bhatinda. Aditya opens up about his girlfriend leaving him and his mother extra-marital affair and Geet shares her plan to elope with her boyfriend, Anshuman. Aditya and Geet bond along the way. At Geet's house in Bhatinda, her family is grateful to Aditya for bringing her back and asks him to stay for a week. Geet runs away from home to meet Anshuman, and Aditya reluctantly agrees to help her elope. They travel to Manali where Anshuman is supposedly located. Aditya bids farewell to Geet in Manali and returns to his life. Nine months later, Aditya has revived his company's financial status and reconciled with his mother. Geet's family sees Aditya on TV and confronts him about Geet's whereabouts, expressing concern for her well-being. Aditya becomes more determined to find Geet and intensifies his search using all means and power. A kid from town recognizes Geet from a photo and leads Aditya to a small home in the deep woods. Aditya finds Geet living joyfully and she introduces Anshuman to Aditya. Aditya gets shock and realizes she has created an imaginary boyfriend named Anshuman. Aditya convinces Geet to come with him to meet her family, and also pretends to seek permission from Anshuman. Back at Bhatinda, Aditya learns about a tragic incident from Geet's childhood where Anshuman died, leading to Geet's refusal to accept his death. They reenact the scene of Anshuman's death in front of Geet, triggering her depression again. Aditya supports Geet through counseling and takes care of her. During this time, Aditya falls in love with Geet. When Geet shows signs of improvement, Aditya gets permission from her family to return to Mumbai. But again, Geet feels like she is going to miss her train of life.
