India is set to witness the largest human congregation in the world, Mahakumbh 2025.
From January 13 to February 26, 2025, Prayagraj will see a footfall of 40 crore devotees (more than the population of the USA).
A vibrant celebration of spirituality, unity, and heritage.
The Kumbh Cycle: Ardh Kumbh (every 6 years), Kumbh (every 12 years), Mahakumbh(every 144 years).
In our lifetime, we won't be able to witness Mahakumbh again.
The origins of the Kumbh Mela trace back thousands of years to the story of Samudra Manthan, the churning of the ocean by Devas (gods) and Asuras (demons).
A pot (Kumbh) of Amrit emerged from this celestial event, the nectar of immortality. To protect it, Lord Vishnu, in the guise of Mohini, carried the pot, and a few drops of nectar fell at four places: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik, making them holy sites for the Kumbh Mela.
The holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet, is believed to purify the soul and wash away sins.
A workforce of 10 lakh people will ensure smooth operations for these 45 days, thus creating massive employment opportunities.
Industries like hospitality, transportation, retail and local businesses thrive as they cater to millions of visitors, thus creating revenue of Rs 2 lakh crore.
