Billions of dollars 💰 just got wiped out yesterday from the market because of the TWITTER BLUE mess. It is funny and dramatic at the same time. One tweet from an account can just wipe out billions from the market. The following things happened yesterday: Eli Lilly, a pharmaceutical giant, posted an unusual message on Twitter yesterday. They wrote, “We are excited to announce insulin is free now.”  The pranksters had no problem making an official-looking Twitter account for the fake username "EliLillyandCo" by paying $8 per month for Twitter Blue. The new subscription service, introduced under Musk, comes with a blue check that previously signified that accounts were legitimate. What happened next was something unexpected, the shares started falling and wiping out a lot of money. Something similar happened with Lockheed Martin too where they claimed halting weapon sales to Saudi Arabia, USA, Israel etc. And their share also started falling. The story just doesn't end here now. The insulin market, which is primarily dominated by Eli Lilly, Sanofi, and Novo Nordisk in the US is now under the radar because of the unregulated prices of insulin. It has again put all these companies under a lot of light, and it will not be as easy for them. Imagine a fake tweet doing all of this and a blue tick mess just empowering it. Also, Twitter has rolled back the program as of now because of so much uncertainty. We are living in interesting times. We are truly in a digital era now. What do you think? #Twitter #BlueTick #Marketing Image source: The New York Times
