I met Ritika Saraswat and Priyank Ahuja last year π
Yes, you heard it right!
Sorry wasn't able to share this earlier cause was a little busy, you know DU exams..
Nevermind
I met them through a career mastery meet-up which was organized in Delhi and many other states of India as well.
Here is a glimpse of what I learnt on that day:
βAs my main focus was on how to be a good content creator on LinkedIn, I asked Ritika out of curiosity what is the first step when creating content on LinkedIn.
Many people share how to be a good content creator but no one tells you how to start being a content creator on LinkedIn?!
She told me that it is important to identify the WHY first as to WHY you want to create content on Linkedin!?
What is your NICHE?
She further suggested the below 3 steps to excel on that WHY matter
-Discover your purpose through networking and research.
-Build authenticity with diverse experiences.
-Establish a strong personal brand to answer "Why you?" effectively.
βAcademics is important but not NECESSARY
As exams were near, both of them first wished us good luck and advised us not to stress too much about grades because, in the long run, no one besides our close circle would inquire about them.
But focusing on building soft skills like networking, personal branding, and LinkedIn to stand out.
Suggested that it's crucial to supplement hard work with credibility gained through experiences, showcasing it through personal branding, and creating visibility to expand your network.
β The definition of networking is not just sending people connection requests on LinkedIn but maintaining good contact with them overall.

The Unforeseen Realities of Internships ππ ββοΈ
Hey LinkedIn fam! π
I recently had an eye-opening experience during my internship, and I'm here to share some valuable lessons with you. π€
What happened? A few days ago, I interned with a company that I won't name (for legal reasons) as an HR intern. To my surprise, it turned out to be a scam in the name of an HR internship. Instead, they had me doing sales tasks, which was completely out of my interest field. I gave it my best shot, but in the end, I had to make the tough decision to exit.
So, what can we learn from this?
Here are some key takeaways:
π 1. Today's corporate world often blends sales into various roles: It's crucial to be prepared for the possibility that your job might involve sales, even if it's not what you initially signed up for.
π 2. Reputed companies can sometimes mislead interns: Don't assume that a big name guarantees a perfect fit. Research and ask questions to ensure your internship aligns with your goals.
π3. Quality matters more than quantity when choosing your internship.
π4. Don't settle for a role that doesn't ignite your passion.
Now, I want to hear from you:
β’ Have you had a similar experience during an internship?
β’ How do you think we can better protect interns from such situations?
Let's discuss in the comments! π¬π
