Does being authentic mean sharing everything on social media?
I recently came across Ayush Wadhwa’s post, and it resonated with me. While authenticity is important, it doesn’t mean we should expose our entire lives online. My life is personal, and not everything needs to be public.
Yes, LinkedIn gurus often emphasize sharing personal stories to connect with your audience. They’re right; real-life experiences make your content relatable. However, that doesn’t mean sharing every detail.
For instance, as a creator in the personal growth niche, I believe in showing vulnerability. But I only share experiences that won’t affect me negatively now or in the future, just 10-15% of my life.
The key is setting boundaries. Share what adds value and protects your peace. People want your insights, not your entire life story. On a platform where negativity spreads quickly, being mindful of what you share is essential.

We got a 7-figure lead, and that too inbound!
It’s been several months since I started working with this client.
For the first 3 months, we tried to understand what to post and what the actual intent behind his profile was.
Then for another 3 months, we figured out certain things and experimented with the content.
And in the 7th month, we got that lead.
So here’s my take on how you can get inbound and outbound leads:
✅ Choose your intent first; whether you want to present your professional side, personal side or to educate or to get only leads.
✅ Talk about your failures as much as your successes.
✅ Be the first to appreciate your work and present it to your audience.
✅ Talk about the company culture you carry because that matters too.
✅ Talk about your work ethic.
✅ Content alone will not bring you work. It might lead to the first call, but after that, your portfolio speaks, so work on that.
And here is the result:
1. Inbound + multiple outbound leads
2. Featured multiple times in one of the two most famous business magazines, all inbound
3. Invited to 3 podcasts, again inbound
4. And much more that I can’t disclose here
So I would say LinkedIn is never a game of one night, but it is a game of experimentation, persistence, and patience.
