Hello People,
Continuing the collection of 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞,
✅Next advice from Masoom Sukhija
She is a Chartered Accountant with almost 5 years of experience, currently working as a Manager at Deloitte in Gurugram.
Specializing in financial reporting and accounting, she excels in handling diverse projects, from finance transformations to implementing new standards. With a knack for simplifying complex matters, she has collaborated with clients in industries like finance, manufacturing, banking, automotive, and telecom.
✅Her insights to all the people out there:
📌The shift to a hybrid working model has changed our approach to work and life. While multitasking may seem productive, we need to question if it's truly benefiting our families and ourselves.
📌Fear of underperformance and career concerns often sideline self-care and family time, but true life satisfaction involves more than just professional success.
📌Priorities should evolve as we age, and we must balance personal life with our careers to avoid neglecting relationships and health.
📌Setting personal life goals alongside career goals is crucial, focusing on family bonds, health, hobbies, and quality time with loved ones.
📌Creating a caring workplace culture that encourages open conversations about health and family can improve work environments without hindering professional success.

Getting into the Big 4s is a dream of thousands of professionals. But is it that easy?
While the Big 4s offer you handsome salary packages their selection process is equally gruesome and includes various rounds.
They test your patience, personality, communication and interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, and several other things in those multiple rounds of interviews.
My journey to Deloitte was also not an easy one. People generally think that the struggle stops at the qualification but it’s not like that.
I was very good in academics but hailing from a small town, my interpersonal and communication skills were always on the back foot.
But the CA course asks more than “very good” for its membership.
So I grilled, studied for 14-16 hours, did my articleship from Delhi, worked on my academics, and interpersonal skills and finally qualified.
I thought this was it.
But when I again came back to Delhi, I realised that the real struggle had just begun.
I tried for an interview in big4s and continued working on technical skills, gradually making a very strong and big network.
Finally, this network helped me to get accurate updates regarding the vacancy, and relevant persons to connect with for the same who helped to fix an interview and at last I ended up with a selection at Deloitte!!!
I learnt that you have to keep your network strong and full of intuitive minds so that you grow with them. Also, keep upgrading your skills.
This was my story of selecting at Deloitte.
Tell me what’s yours!?

What is the culture of Deloitte?
I get this question or similar kinds of questions very often. Summing up those questions, the following has been repeatedly asked:
Are you enjoying working at Big4?
How is the work-life balance?
How is your learning at Deloitte?
Do you want to switch your profile?
And many more...
Let me get this sorted for you.
✅Culture of Big4 - Depends upon the team you are working in.
✅Working hours - Depends upon the client you are handling.
✅Learning - Depends upon the work you are handling.
✅Work profile - Depends upon your experience and interests.
It all boils down to one word - "Depends".
The answer to the same question will vary from one person to another. There is no fixed answer.
So, don’t go by anyone’s judgement. Enquire from the person in whose team you are joining to get the exact idea or other teams if they know them well.
Generically asking such kind of questions from any random person who does not even know about the profile in which you are interested, would be of no use to you.
Agree? Let me know your thoughts.
