🛑 MSC Container Ship Tragedy off Kochi Coast – A Wake-Up Call for the Export Community 🌊🚢 Date: 25 May 2025 Location: 38 nautical miles off Kochi, India Incident: The Liberian-flagged container vessel MSC ELSA 3 sank while en route from Vizhinjam to Kochi. The ship was carrying 643 containers, 13 of which had hazardous materials including calcium carbide. 💥 What Happened? A technical failure led to sudden flooding in a cargo hold, causing the vessel to list and eventually capsize. 🧯 Rescue & Response ✅ All 24 crew members were safely rescued by the Indian Coast Guard. 🛢️ However, 367.1 MT of furnace oil and 84.44 MT diesel pose a massive oil spill risk. Indian Coast Guard and Navy have launched urgent containment operations. 🌱 Environmental Impact Threat to Kerala’s marine life, fisheries, and coastal ecosystem. Risk of toxic chemical leakage and long-term pollution. Emergency declared by Kerala Government. 🚨 What Should Exporters Learn? Insurance is Non-Negotiable – Always ensure marine cargo is fully covered. Know Your Vessel & Route – Vet the logistics partner’s reliability and safety record. Have a Crisis Backup Plan – Track shipments and prepare alternative plans. 🌍 Why This Matters? For agro and fresh produce exporters like us, timing is critical. A delay of even 2–3 days in a temperature-sensitive shipment can result in total cargo loss. This tragedy reminds us that supply chain resilience is as important as product quality. 🧠 Our Takeaway: The ocean may connect us to global markets, but it also teaches us humility. Let’s invest in responsible logistics, climate-conscious policies, and transparent trade practices. 📣 Let’s not wait for the next disaster to take action. #ExportNews #MSC #Kochi #ContainerShip #MarineDisaster #SupplyChain #AgroExports #FreshProduce #Environment #Logistics #Sustainability #CrossSeaExim

From Local to Global – Powered by Women! Over 100 women farmers from Dhenkanal, Odisha, have exported 10 tonnes of Amrapali mangoes to Europe — including UK and Italy 🇮🇳➡️🌍 Trained under global standards, supported by FPOs and APEDA, they’ve proven that when farmers are empowered, they don’t chase — they lead. As an exporter, this is the India I want to represent: ✅ Empowered growers ✅ Transparent systems ✅ Global value realization Let’s build an export ecosystem where our farmers stand tall, not chase middlemen. #WomenInAgri #AgroExports #IndiaToWorld #EmpoweredFarming #Radheva #CrossSeaExim
