"I don't see the point of posting personal stories on LinkedIn."
I used to believe that too - until one post changed everything.
Here’s the truth I learned the hard way
Most people think:
1. Stories are “too emotional” for LinkedIn.
2. Authority = jargon + case studies.
3. Posting wins = getting leads.
But the reality?
Your audience doesn’t remember your frameworks.
"They remember your stories".
Yesterday, in a session from the community I’m part of led by Abhijit Bhaduri, he said : The future belongs to storytellers.
Every time I share something personal, about building my agency, Failing a campaign, or learning something messy - the results speak for themselves:
More saves, More DMs. More trust.
Why? Because
No one can copy your story
That’s your strongest branding tool.
So if you’ve been avoiding personal content because it feels “too much”
Maybe that’s exactly what your brand needs right now.
Your story is literally your strategy.
That’s what makes people say
“I want to work with you, not just any agency.”
Because the most powerful marketing is still the most human one.

5 months ago, I had 500 followers on LinkedIn.
Today, there are over 14,000 people in this community.
(Still feels wild to say that out loud).
Whenever someone asks how I grew this fast...
My answer is simple: Consistency.
You have to keep showing up.
Even when you don’t feel like it.
Even when no one’s watching yet.
A lot of that mindset came from watching creators like Lara Acosta.
She built from nothing, stayed consistent,
and turned her story into something powerful.
The truth is, growth doesn’t come from motivation.
It comes from momentum.
I made it a rule to post even when I didn’t have “perfect” ideas.
To keep learning, testing, and improving one post at a time.
And that’s what changed everything.
Now, posting feels natural.
Writing feels fun.
And connecting feels effortless.
If you’re working on growing your own platform, stay patient and stay consistent, it compounds.
This is your reminder to build your personal brand.
Because the cost of staying invisible
is all the opportunities you’ll never know you missed.

I Need a personal brand.
No. You don't.
You need a personal reputation.
And these two are NOT the same thing.
A brand is what you say about yourself.
A reputation is what others say when you leave the room.
Dhirubhai. Premji. Narayan Murthy.
No tagline. No content calendar.
No "Top 10 lessons from my journey" carousel.
Just decades of showing up and doing the work.
One name was enough.
And here's the part nobody wants to hear:
AI just killed personal branding.
Not strategy. Not reputation. Branding.
Anyone can generate a polished bio in 30 seconds now.
Anyone can pump out "thought leadership" posts at scale.
Anyone can LOOK like an expert without ever being one.
When everyone has a brand, nobody has a brand.
So what actually survives?
The client you retained when things went wrong.
The team that would work with you again in a heartbeat.
The referral that came from someone you never asked.
That's not branding.
That's reputation.
And it's the last thing on this platform that can't be faked.
I run a branding agency. I say this to every client on Day 1:
"I can build your brand.
But your reputation? That's on you.
That comes from the work you do when the camera is off."
Stop building the story about the thing.
Build the thing.
The story will follow.
Got this idea from a conversation with Abhijit Bhaduri.
One of the sharpest thinkers on talent and leadership I've come across.
The kind of person who drops one line in a conversation and it rewires how you think.
