Why I Left the Dream Job @Techburner?🤦🏻‍♂️ And There’s only one reason why… Growth. Back in 2016-2019, I was just a kid watching YouTube legends like Dan Mace, Andreas Hem, and Sam Kolder, dreaming that someday, I’d be crafting my storytelling edits from the crazy ideas in my head. But back then, I wasn’t ready. I was just learning the ropes — editing, failing, improving. Then came 2019-2022 — College, CA, then CAT… yk the story 😅 (studies were always a priority) But if you want something, and you're obsessed with it, someday, you'll get a chance. that chance came on Jan 19, 2023, an opportunity to join the Shlok Srivastava (Techburner's) Editing Team and shift my life towards content creation. And from Day 1, there was just one thing driving me: An insane hunger to grow. From 2023 to early 2025, I went all in: ➡️ Joined as an editor → became a Senior Editor ➡️ Got to own and direct long-form videos ➡️ Injected my style into every narrative ➡️ Learnt and experimented a ton! ➡️ then getting from Senior editor to → Creative Lead I had so much fun working with a talented team Vipul Mohanan, Vipul Vijay vargiya, Harsh kumar Singh, Sarthak Jha, Pranesh Chourey, Venkatesh Parik, Sajan Mahto, Suman Jha — creatives who made me better every day. also, Crime in Partner Amal Manohar and @Rachit — we bonded over crazy deadlines, and that layers Launch was pure teamwork to bring up top-notch video, and storytelling like never before! One of the sickest memories? Jan 2024 — we flew to Vietnam. Cruised through Ha Long Bay, explored Hanoi… And in the middle of all that, delivered two high-quality projects — like it was nothing. Pure vibes and high performance. (Some pics attached 📸) After 2.5 incredible years of learning, growing, transforming, and delivering at full throttle… I realized something: I’m not ready to slow down. Not now. Not ever. My inbox is now filled with founders and creators who want to bring their visions to life, and I genuinely want to invest my energy, ideas, and creativity into these collaborations and do something of my own, explore, travel, collaborate more, and create more impactful stories and narratives than ever. So here I am. No full-time job. No limits. Just full-speed creativity. and share my ideas as a visual storyteller! I’m now open to collaborating with: ✨ Brands 🎥 Creators 📢 Agencies 🧠 Visionaries ...who want to build impactful narratives, bold stories, and scroll-stopping content. DMs are open 💬 Let’s craft something exciting! #VideoEditing #CreativeDirector #Techburner #Storytelling #NarrativeEditing #CareerShift #OpenToWork #GrowthMindset #ContentCreator #FreelanceLife

SHAKTI SETHI do something fun on my Mac! It’s called visual storytelling!
Why a Career Shift?🤦‍♂️ Last year, I found myself in a *Karm Sankat* —torn between pursuing an MBA, landing an MNC job, or taking a leap into something I’d always done for fun: video editing. It felt like a paradigm shift—kind of like in the 17th century when Galileo’s discovery changed the belief that Earth was the center of the universe. Similarly, my focus shifted from traditional career paths like MBA and corporate jobs to something that had been right under my nose all along—my passion for storytelling and editing. Let me take you through this shift step by step: 🔹 2017-2021: My journey began with a big dream of adding "CA" to my name. Three years in, after repeated attempts, I faced failure. 🔹 2021: I moved to Delhi and began prepping for CAT and other MBA entrance exams. Two attempts, a decent percentile, and I had options for good B-schools. 🔹 2023: By now, I’d been out of the corporate world for three years. By 2023 It was 3 years of Gap in my corporate career, so I started finding Jobs, Guess what! Multiple Rejections: damn! Not a single company was willing to consider me, Process BPOs: Rejected ❌ MNCs: Rejected ❌ Big 4’s: Rejected ❌ Startups: Rejected ❌ out of desperation, I tried applying for a Call Center: Rejected!❌❌❌ 🫡 🔹 Meanwhile, there was something I had always done for fun—video editing. I had casually worked with big brands like Zee Music and foreign music creators, even making $1000+ on projects. But it was never serious, just a side hustle during college and exam prep days. Then came January 2023—just as I was preparing to join a decent MBA college, I came across a job posting at Techburner on LinkedIn. I applied while sitting for my XAT exam, and surprisingly, after a case study and a week of silence, I got a call—I was selected as a video editor! 🎉 From that moment, everything changed. I went from the frustration of rejections to being part of a creative team that matched my energy and passion. Today, I’ve gone from a junior editor to leading the post-production team. It’s been a rollercoaster of hard work, learning, and growth. This career shift has taught me that sometimes the path we resist is the one we’re meant to take. For me, it was always video editing and storytelling—something I loved but never considered as a full-fledged career until now. And now, I’m more excited than ever to keep chasing this dream of becoming a great filmmaker and storyteller. 🎥✨ Techburner Shlok Srivastava #paradime_shift

😤I felt furious, frustrated, and ready to quit! (Glad that I didn't🫡) For me, Finding the perfect music for each scene was my biggest struggle early in my career. Then Vipul Mohanan , our Team Lead, shared game-changing advice: “Practice and listen, even when no one’s watching.” So, after long workdays, I’d go home and dive into endless tracks, sorting by mood and niche. 🎧🧑‍💻 💥 The LV project tested me: syncing intro music with action was tough. I used speed ramps to enhance the comedic effect and align the sound with the story perfectly. It was challenging, but it sharpened my skills. Now, I tackle big projects confidently—what was once my fear is now my strength. Now, I tackle big projects confidently—what was once my fear is now my strength. Learnings: 🎵 Your Pain Points Are Your Gain Points. 🎵 Face the grind, embrace the growth. Thanks, Vipul, for that push. 🙌 PS: I'm again in that same loop but this time it's Directing, yes ab director banna hai and that's more hard to conquer 🫠 #VideoEditing #GrowthMindset #LessonsLearned
