I almost quit on my dream of being an IITian.
2 years of syllabus and only 9 months.
Sounds so challenging?
It was!😅
I was in Navodaya and honestly speaking students doesn’t have much awareness about competitive exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, etc.
My parents don’t have a good educational background so they couldn’t guide me to start preparing for IIT-JEE at the right time.
I was having no clue about what to do after finishing my 12th standard.
In a world where people plan their whole life, I was unaware of what to do after 1 month.
After getting my result, I got a little🐥 conscious about my further education and started researching the options.
During that research part, I saw a boat of hope in IITs.
If I want a bright future in engineering I need to prepare for the IIT-JEE exam. (A single attempt only as per the age restrictions).
By that time, the gates of prestigious coaching institutes were closed and hence I ended up joining a local IIT-JEE coaching institute at the end of July 2017.
Challenges were frightening me.
✅️ It was local coaching and started 2 years ago and wasn’t having a book of good results.
I still took a risk because there was no option left. I was not confident about the teachers.
✅️ In an era where students start preparing for IIT-JEE from the 6th standard, I was having only 9 months.
If anyone of you has prepared for IIT-JEE can relate that what you are being taught in school and what comes on paper are poles apart.
I started my IIT-JEE preparation.
I used to spend 10 hours⏱️ daily in my coaching attending classes just to complete the syllabus.
I was in a l➿️p of waking up, going to coaching, coming back, having dinner, late-night study, sleeping for a few hours, and repeating.
I spent my 5 months like this but after that, I broke down💔 and decided to give up.
During those hard times, my teachers supported me by saying, “Agar nahi bhi hua toh life khatam nahi hogi. Tune shuru kiya hai toh uski manzil tak jaake toh dekh”.
I and my father used to spend hours on calls📲 to discuss the same thing.
I crimped myself and started again.
Finally, I made it to IIT.
I have just completed my graduation from IIT Indore and currently working in my own startup as a content manager.
Success or failure depends on that one moment when we think to give up.

p.s - "You're clicking this picture at the perfect place", said the Director of IIT Indore as there's a board of IIT Indore at the back.

3 years of preparation in vain, NEED HELP!
This is the situation of my brother today.
My brother, Bharat Bhushan. A hardworking student, a to be IITian.
Lately I shared a post about my brother qualifying JEE Advance.
We applied for JoSAA counselling process and he got a seat at IIT Gandhinagar in Round 1.
We showed our seat acceptance by submitting the FLOAT option and were waiting for the next round for some betterment.
We couldn't find any option to pay the fees or to submit the documents on the portal after the Round 1.
We got to know the results of Round 2 yesterday. My brother has lost the seat alloted in Round 1.
We then realized that it was a technical glitch in the previous round, because of which he lost his seat.
We rushed to IIT Bombay for help, but to no avail.
I have seen my brother struggle through his all the three attempts for getting into the IITs.
This was his third and last attempt.
A small issue at the system side, has broken my brother's dreams and efforts for 3 long years.
Depressed and anxious, he now has no hopes left for his future education.
Many more students like him are suffering from such negligence by the system.
You can understand how unfair it is for someone who has put in everything to achieve the dream.
We would be filing a petition against the concerned authority JoSAA to get justice.
Any help would really be appreciated.
Connect me with students who may have faced the same issue.
Please share this as much as possible.
So that it reaches to the concerned authority.
We have attached link for a short youtube video describing the issue in the comments section.
Please share it as much as possible.
We need linkedin community's help!!!

"You're going to make us proud one day."
Those were my mother's final words as she left me at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya when I was just 10 years old.
I still remember standing at the dormitory window, watching her leave, tears streaming down my face.
The kind of tears only a child knows, the ones that come from a place of pure fear.
At 10, I didn't understand why I needed to stay away from home.
But looking back, those 7 years in boarding school shaped me in ways nothing else could have.
The first few months were brutal.
- Waking up at 5 AM for morning PT
- Learning to wash my own clothes
- Fighting homesickness every night
- Managing studies without anyone reminding me
There was no mother rushing with breakfast when I woke up late. No father to solve conflicts with other kids. No safety net.
But slowly, something beautiful happened.
I started taking charge of my own life.
1️⃣ Small decisions at first – what to wear, how to spend free time, which books to read.
2️⃣ Then bigger ones – which friendships to nurture, how to resolve conflicts, when to seek help.
By the time I was in 10th standard, I was a different person.
The girl who cried at the dormitory window was now managing her life with confidence.
This independence followed me to IIT. Then to my first startup experience. And now, as a co-founder at CreatorTube.
When people ask how I manage uncertainty in business, I smile thinking about that 10-year-old girl who learned to manage uncertainty just to get through each day.
Boarding school taught me a lot other than academics:
🌸 Self-reliance is a superpower.
🌸 Discomfort is where growth happens.
🌸 Your ability to adapt is your greatest asset.
Every time business gets tough, I remember: I've been training for this since I was 10.
Have you had experiences that forced independence on you?
