And she says that her life’s boring
because she
hangs out with the same 3 people each day
doesn’t go clubbing every weekend
doesn’t have spontaneous night out plans
unlike others who’re her age
And i say that she’s making the best use of her “those years”
because she
has found for herself a small yet real set of people
finds time to spend with family
spends day and night bringing her passion to reality
This comparison takes away the little joys of life.
As grandma says, every person’s got different goals in life, so why should their journeys be the same :)

At the age of 19, I’ve tried my hands at a hell lot of things
mugged up 300 pages in 3 days before end sems
cold emailed 100 people for internship and eventually landed one
went all in for case competitions because of the fear of missing out
wrote and presented research papers
hosted college events
f*cked up some very important interviews
successfully cracked some as well
travelled abroad alone
travelled abroad with family
travelled abroad with friends
tried cafe hopping and club hopping
started a podcast
started building a company
worked with a national best selling author
wrote a book
And if there’s one thing I’ve learnt from this all, it’s ‘balance is the key’
If you can learn to balance partying till 1am while still showing up for the gym next morning
If you can learn to balance keeping up with the newest show on Netflix while still keeping up with the stock prices
If you can learn to balance staying back in college to chill out after events while still maintaining a decent score
You will pretty much be able to figure it all out, sooner or later :)

I was asked this during my interview for Deloitte
‘What were your learnings from your summer internship at Godfrey Phillips India Limited ?’
And we talked about this for the next 10-15 minutes
Unlike what the interviewer probably expected,
I didn’t talk about the project I worked on, or the tools I learnt.
Instead, I talked about
how hard it felt to walk up to the department head during lunch break
how awkward it was to admit that I didn’t know something, and ask for help
and how much confidence I built simply by showing up every day, even for the repetitive tasks
My first in-office internship wasn’t really about those excel sheets or company files
It was about experiencing the corporate work life, drama and mid-crisis coffee breaks<33
