Everyone says off-campus is hard.
“They take 6–12 months…”
“Too much competition…”
“Only referrals work…”
Cool. But here’s what no one tells you.
You don’t lose off-campus because of competition.
You lose because you’re invisible.
In my case, I didn’t get placed through campus.
But I still got an offer in my 4th year.
No luck. No “perfect timing.”
Just a few things done differently:
-> How I built skills that actually matter
-> How I got noticed by recruiters without referrals
-> The exact LinkedIn strategy that made a company spot me
-> How I turned interview experiences into opportunities
And one post… literally ONE post…
made the right company notice me.
That’s how the opportunity came.
If you’re someone struggling with off-campus,
I’ve broken down the exact system I followed .
Comment “OFFCAMPUS”
I'll DM you the full strategy doc.
(Make sure we're connected — I can only DM people I'm connected with)
No fluff. Just what actually works.
💫 From the Toughest Phase to My First Career Step 💫
There was a phase — probably the toughest one so far — where I felt completely lost.
Series of Opportunities slipped away one by one and even the Gridlex oppurtunity in the beginning of my 4th year.
After every rejection, my confidence shattered a little more.
I felt lost.
Every “no” reminded me of the promises I had made to myself, and that made it even worse.
Still, I tried to move forward — opening the Striver sheet again, revising those DP or Graph problems.
But there were days when I’d suddenly feel depressed, mood off, and hopeless, questioning if all my effort was even worth it.
I slowly stopped posting on LinkedIn — it had been almost 4–6 weeks since I last shared anything.
Somewhere deep down, I had started feeling like a loser.
And then — out of nowhere — a message popped up on LinkedIn.
It was from Gridlex, asking if I was interested in a Software Engineer role.
That one message turned everything around.
After a series of challenging rounds that tested my communication, problem-solving skills, and patience, I finally received the offer — with a PPO opportunity (performance-based).
What felt unreal and unexpected became a reminder that life can surprise you when you least expect it.
This might just be my first step on the career ladder, but it’s a meaningful one — a symbol of not giving up, even when everything seems to fall apart.
To anyone going through their lowest point —
Hang in there. Even in silence, your efforts are noticed.
The universe has a way of surprising you just when you think it’s over. ✨

🌟 One Connection Can Change Everything! 🌟
A few months back, when I was eagerly searching for internships, I connected with Eswar Bhageerath on LinkedIn.
Out of curiosity and hope, I reached out to him asking for a referral.
He kindly told me:
“If there’s an opportunity that matches your profile, I’ll be glad to refer you. But you should keep an eye out for them yourself.”
At that time, unfortunately, there were no openings that suited me. I almost forgot about it and continued my journey.
But recently, while exploring again, I came across an internship opportunity at Microsoft.
Without hesitation, I messaged Eswar about it—and to my surprise, he immediately extended his support and gave me a referral! 🙌
Last week, I received the official referral mail from Microsoft for a Software Engineer Internship Opportunity.
Whether I get shortlisted or not, this moment itself is so special for me.
Because it showed me something very important:
💡 Networking is not “just a buzzword.” It’s a door-opener to opportunities you might never reach alone.
If you’re someone who thinks “networking is useless or fake,” trust me, you might be closing off so many chances without even realizing it.
Connections are not only about jobs—they’re about learning, exchanging ideas, helping each other grow, and sometimes being the bridge to your next big step.
I’m incredibly thankful to Eswar Bhageerath for his kindness and support.
This referral gave me hope, motivation, and belief that the right people in your network can truly uplift you.
✨ My takeaway: Don’t hesitate to reach out. Build genuine relationships.
Offer value when you can. And when the time comes, the same network will support you back in ways you never imagined.
