I had a front-row view of the actual force behind the 'Big 4' client magic in minute detail, it's more than just buzzwords and bullet points. Completing the summer internship chapter with loads of good memoirs and crazy rides. What began with route figuring and lift catching, onboarding decks and saying hello's soon became and mission research oriented work at Deloitte. Here are 3 lessons that I'll hold onto way beyond the internship badge and souvenirs: 🔍 Clarity is power: In client pursuits, you are only half done if the way you define the issue is correct. Each deliverable, sentence, and anecdote must have a reason, and no, "only being aesthetic" does not qualify unless it has bearing on impact. 🧠Strategic thinking isn't an ability; it's a way of thinking: You have to be smart in your way of thinking, just refine your research after researching in depth for that 2-3 pagers to be featured in a 100 pager deck. 🤝 People > Process (each time): Collaborating with mentors who mentored with empathy, humor, and authentic collaboration was the game-changer. Culture isn't something you learn out of the handbook, it's what emerges in everyday moments. Heartfelt thanks to Sandeep Chandola | Vineet K. Today, on the day of strength (Hanuman Janmotsav), I am beyond grateful to share that.... I have joined Deloitte USI as a pursuits professional in it's client and market growth (CMG) area. I’ve traded books for meetings, and coffee-fueled case studies for coffee-fueled client insights for the next 2 months and it's already been one week of great disruption! What does that imply? 👉 I'm assisting in developing strategies to elevate the brand for success that transform research into pitches and building partnerships, presentations into client love letters (you get the gist : client proposals). Excel may not sleep (but, of course I want to) and I hope I am ready for the spreadsheets to test my patience 😛 Nothing would have been possible without the constant belief and faith of my Parents, the undying efforts of Divyang Bhargava, who knew the best of how I can better prepare for the rounds to eliminate roadblocks. Would you believe if I say that I am...... still reeling from swimming in insights, dopamine surges, and unlimited dessert options at the National Internship Conference'25 ("NIC") that happened yesterday at Deloitte University, Hyderabad - and I wouldn't do a barter for anything! 🪄 In a few power packed hours, I discovered: 1. We didn't merely discuss the problems - we analyzed, prototyped and pitched the solutions. 2. Whether it was AI or client expansion every discussion was like a crash course in thinking bigger. SPOILER : It's already here, and it's more intelligent than my previous group project. What made it truly more iconic was the presence of eminent leaders like Sudha Manoj | Vijaya Bommireddipalli | Krishna Repaka | Rajeev Balakrishnan | Saptamita De (She/Her) and notably a few others. They didn’t just talk about the future, they made me feel like I am already building it in some way. Apart from the panels and post-its, what impressed me was the culture of curiosity, where questions are appreciated, creativity is fostered, and interns are treated as trailblazers of tomorrow. ....and ofcourse the food deserves a special mention. Seriously. To the leaders, mentors, and fellow interns - grateful for the talks, laughs, and that various group activities and exchanges. 🙌 Thanks to Deloitte USI for building an experience that was part learning, part networking, and part "how-is-this-real" moments!? 💌 To big ideas, bold innovations, and never underestimating the power of a great buffet.
