Are you someone who starts their day with reading a newspaper? Good! ✨
On that note, elated to share that this Monday, I’m starting a new position as Deputy Manager - Brand Capital at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India).
Super thrilled. Let’s go!
Life Update : Won my first national award for a five episode short video series I directed, acted and edited :')
I'll go back to absorbing it. See you in the next post!
What an enthralling start to February!
Travelled 300 kms this weekend to see myself transmogrify into sales and public relations for a friend’s startup Niramish Now at the Jaipur Literature Festival.
Not only was this my first time being on the other side of the table; selling products than buying one. Understanding how it feels to have a customer spend fifteen minutes at your stall, tasting and trying products only to say “ghoom ke vapis aate hain” (haha, been there, done that). 🥲
But it was also a first to experience being reconginsed to a significant level that more than fifty folks came to meet and ask for a picture.
It’s like, when did I make such a big impact, I did not even realise! And, not only through Instagram, I met some amazing humans who came to know me through LinkedIn posts like this one :)
Maybe because the niche here was the youth enthusiastic about literature, cinema and culture or I have just gotten enough popular from social media to be recongisned in real life, which I’m not aware of much; I do not know. Zero knowledge. All I know is that I’m grateful and humbled to have experienced this love and joy —
The love of being recognised, that feeling of having an identity
and
The joy of being able to persuade someone to see a value in something and making them do a purchase!
Can’t be happier.
You see in the images - HARSHIT JAIN - co-founder of Maska Peanut Butter, Mukund Marodia - a LinkedIn connection who’s now a friend (we might make a reel together), Nikhil - from the team at Jaipur Literature Festival who was kind enough to not only tell me about his love for my videos but also provided us drinks on the house (we insisted to pay, okay? Haha) and me promoting Maska and taking testimonials and insights from our customers.
Now, I’m eagerly looking forward to putting up my own stall at a flea in Delhi in the coming month -
“ALL by Veds”
(ALL stands for About Life and Love)
a stall that will have on display art pieces made by me, favourite collection of books, frames, and a lot more.
Do let me know how you’d love to give a visit to this set-up and if you’d like me to include any of your products (if you’re a small business owner) and we can certainly explore. (Comment/DM)
Idea Takeaway from this post : Take up new things, explore more about yourself, utilise weekends well :’)
